![]() ![]() (I did this simply by using a 100% hard edge brush, clicking to create a circle, transparency lock and then used a large airbrush to paint in the light, usually in just one or two strokes) the photoshop result will uniformly always look much cleaner whereas in krita you will almost always have one of two things. Try this if you will, render a large sphere in Krita and render a same size sphere in Photoshop. However my two cents is that while Krita might have the best tools for painting, Photoshop has two things over Krita, the first is performance, it's slightly faster (though not by very much after they added the instant preview feature), but I've also noticed that there's something off about krita's soft edge brushes and you can see this too in your work, I mean your soft edges aren't usually as smooth as they would be had you done the same in photoshop. You should pick up the free trial and try it out (although it'll only actually be faster if you have a dedicated graphics card, that's the trick it uses to be fast, gpu acceleration) ![]() But ultimately for the best final results, I'm pretty sure corel painter is still king, but I wouldn't be surprised if paintstorm can actually beat both krita and photoshop by quite the margin. It's been surprisingly easy to adjust to paintstorm from krita, anyhow I agree with you on Krita being superior to photoshop, never tried SAI, but I am very seriously considering switching over to Paintstorm Studio, it only costs 20$ and it has a free trial. Actually to be perfectly honest, as much as I love Krita, Corel Painter is probably the best digital painting software (careful though, it's a big leap from photoshop and krita, it can be tough to learn first time around), although I recently discovered that there's a new contender in town called Paintstorm, I'm testing it out right now but at a glance it looks like I'll like it more than Krita, it's also the by far fastest digital painting software which is why I took an interest in it (You can often get away with drawing with 1000px sized textured brushes with no lag for example, good luck doing that in any of the others) it's one general purpose brush engine also seems superior to Krita's basic engines although some things are probably gonna be missing because it only seems to have one.
